“The desire for adornment is universal. Pieces of jewelry have been found in ancient archaeological excavations all over the world. What I most enjoy in the creating of this work is allowing the materials and forms to take me through years of human history and culture.”

“I do not come from a traditional art, craft or design background. My main interest in making pieces for adornment is in the exploration of human culture and history.
I have worked in photography, mosaics and handmade books, but only in the designing and making of jewelry have I found a place where all my skills come into focus.
For many years I worked as a bench jeweler, but I found it confining. Why limit myself to certain materials? I love making a variety of work, allowing the differences to inform each other and help all the work grow and evolve.
Some pieces I create are traditional, some not. In the end my obligation is to endow each piece with its own spirit to make it live”
